Esperanto

Esperanto is a constructed international auxiliary language that facilitates understanding between people of different countries and enables cultural equality. It is easier to learn than any national language.
Esperanto emerged from a project published in 1887 by the Warsaw doctor L. L. Zamenhof. There are now Esperanto spokespersons in about 120 countries. The exact number is unknown.
Esperanto is mainly used practically

  •     of travelers using a worldwide network of Esperanto-speaking hosts;
  •     at Esperanto congresses, cultural festivals and other events;
  •     to care for a variety of hobbies such as international penpals, philately, amateur radio, discussions in Usenet u. a.

There is also an extensive translation and original literature. In special cases, Esperanto is used as a scientific language, commercial language and as the working language of some non-governmental organizations.
